Tonight my husband and I made your Peppermint chocolate recipe using andes mint chips. THEY. WERE. AMAZING. Thick, moist, chewy and lots of chocolate! Almost like a brownie cookie. 8 minutes was perfect. I am SO glad that I decided to make these as gifts because I know they will be appreciated ? Also, the mix made 24 cookies for me. A lot more than I was expecting!
Hi!I made the double chocolate toffee cookies. They are SOO good! Huge hit in this house! I am making jars to give away to families in our church on Sunday. my only problem: I could only fit 1/2 cup of each of the chips in the jars (so instead of 2/3 cups of the chocolate chips, toffee, and white chocolate, I only used half a cup). Wondering if there I some way you can help me edit the template for my jars? To put the correct amount? Thanks for such a great recipe and idea!
This is such a wonderful idea. So clever, and the peppermint choc. chip cookies turn out great. Thank you so much for sharing!! There is a typo. on chips (chps) on the how to make information. Is it possible for you to fix it please? Hoping to borrow this idea for a couple of kid making gifts for Christmas.

The inspiration for my jars first came from a commercially prepared version I saw available in a store. I loved the layered look of the cookie mix jar, but knew the $9.99 price tag would add up much too quickly for all the neighbors and teachers I had on my list. It looked easy enough to DIY on my own so I bought some nice 1 quart jars, found a couple great recipes and designed some cute labels/gift tags to finish off my gifts.
I wanted cookies that looked and tasted festive, so I went with green and red Smarties dotted Christmas Cookie mix and a candy cane speckled White Chocolate Peppermint Cookie mix. Either would be great to bake up on Christmas Eve and leave out for Santa!
When you think about mason jar cookie mixes, one of the coolest things is how the ingredients are layered and how it looks from the outside. The more precise it is, the prettier it looks. Of course, you could easily mix everything, but if you do layer, keep in mind, the chunks, pieces, raisins and even nuts need to be on top. The bottom should start with the lightest powder ingredients and build up from there. Your recipe label or tag should offer simple instructions on adding the ingredients as needed to finalize the recipe.
Another important aspect of mason jar cookies is sharing how many cookies the recipe will make. On average you will have two dozen traditionally chocolate chip cookies (approximately) for each 16-ounce jar of mixture. This average is based on silver dollar sized cookies, which may or may not, be too small for your gift receiver.
Homemade cookies are perfect for holiday gift giving. You will surprise your friends and family offering something that is unique and homemade while still very unique. Additionally, you can cater your recipes to allow people to enjoy your cookies, by adjusting to recipes that are no gluten or vegan.
We have your mason jar cookie recipes! If you are looking for great gift giving ideas, then a recipe in a bottle is perfect. I’ve been wanting to go crockery shopping for a while now, but due to my busy schedule, I haven’t had the time to actually go. Between my studies and all the assignments I have to complete, it’s hard to find a free moment. I’m considering asking someone to help me with assignment so I can free up some time for things like shopping and other personal errands. It would be great to have a bit more balance in my life and not have to sacrifice activities I enjoy!
